At Tiangay Health System, our primary objective is to establish a comprehensive cancer center aimed at educating men, women, and children in Sierra Leone about the crucial importance of early cancer prevention. To achieve this goal, we are committed to providing state-of-the-art cancer screening tools that can aid in early detection and treatment of this devastating disease. Tiangay Health System is comprised of three hospitals and two clinics, all working in concert to create a healthcare infrastructure that serves low- and middle-income families in emerging economies. Our aim is to provide them with access to a high-performing, affordable healthcare system rooted in Western medical practices.
This interconnected system consists of two primary components: a well-structured network of hospitals and health care providers operating under a unified management umbrella, accompanied by an integrated care management program designed to deliver affordable care. We prioritize excellent customer service and offer numerous services, including short-term hospitalization, general and specialty surgical services, ensuring that patients receive the attention they need. The first phase of our model will be rolled out in our main facilities, strategically located in Freetown and Lungi.
This model brings together the resources from different areas, enabling hospitals to manage patient care based on each facility's specialty, and allowing specialized doctors to provide focused care. Specifically, the facility located in Freetown, known as Waterloo, will act as the central hub of our network. It will offer a wide range of services such as maternity care, primary health services, and treatment for infectious diseases, drug addiction, and cancer. Additionally, we will provide mental health services, dental care, radiology, and specialized pediatric services.
The inclusion of a facility dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, equipped with advanced technology for radiation and chemotherapy, will be an invaluable asset to Sierra Leone. Our aim is not only to treat cancer but also to educate the population about early prevention strategies. We plan to offer mammography exams that feature curved compression surfaces, designed for enhanced patient comfort during examinations. Research has shown that this technology significantly reduces breast cancer mortality rates among women. Furthermore, we will introduce one of the most innovative therapies available in the industry, capable of treating any tumor, in any part of the body. This cutting-edge therapy is effective for a variety of conditions, and we are excited to make these advancements accessible to the people of Sierra Leone.
